Steve R. Burford has been a practicing attorney since 1990. Upon completion of his Juris Doctorate degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, he went to work as the Law Clerk for Sonny Hornsby, who at the time was the Chief Justice of Alabama.

A Martindale Hubbell AV rated attorney, Steve has extensive experience in all aspects of insurance related law on both sides of the fence. Prior to joining our firm in 2009, he was a partner from 1996-2009 at Spain and Gillon, also located in Birmingham.

Steve is a big believer in doing as much prep work as possible for every case. “In my 25 years of experience, I have learned you can win a case based on the finer details the opposition has missed,” he said. “If you unearth the good, the bad and the ugly early on, you have all the information you need to determine the best strategy.”
