Our Community Outreach
SMGB Law believes in supporting community growth by providing resources to groups that promote local developments. Our involvement is focused on efforts close to our hearts. We work with established organizations, but we have also taken it upon ourselves to fill needs where we see them. Learn more below.
KultureCity
KultureCity is the nation’s leading nonprofit organization dedicated to sensory accessibility and acceptance for individuals with invisible disabilities. By promoting acceptance over awareness, KultureCity works toward a better future, where understanding and integration are key in reducing the isolation that people with invisible disabilities often face. Over the last five years, SMGB Law has provided approximately $50K in contributions to KultureCity’s efforts, and we are proud to continue doing so.
Tech for Teens
At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, SMGB Law hosted a nonprofit called Tech for Teens. When distance learning was implemented in schools, access to technology became more essential than ever for students to succeed. SMGB Law gathered gently used laptops and cleaned them up for donation to underprivileged schools in Birmingham. With resources like these, teachers were better equipped to provide their students with continued learning. This program also reflects SMGB’s connection to technology as an important part of our national firm’s modern litigation methods.
Student Athletes
As a firm with an athletics practice area, we have had the opportunity to regularly meet and interact with student athletes. In doing so, we found that there was a local need for athletic sponsorship to afford a more equal distribution of opportunities within our communities. SMGB Law has the privilege of sponsoring numerous student athletes by fostering their ability to involve themselves in travel baseball and financially supporting their equipment needs. We recognize the social and developmental importance of sports, and we’re proud to help expand the circle of opportunity that access to sports can provide for students.
